Hi folks im just curious about this two amps of fender. currently i own a fender hot rod deluxe 3 limited edition. And im getting torn apart because i dont have any clue with fender hot rod deville sounds. What is the big difference of this two amps? I know deville wattage is 60 watts and deluxe is 40 watts. How much is the difference. I know a lot of you here in this lounge could give me some concrete explanations. Rock on! :!:

Besides 60 watts, the Dvl comes in your choice of either a 2x12 or 4x10, while the 40 watt Dlx is a 1x12.

Is there a tonal value difference between these two amps?

The controls and layout are identical in all three amps. There are some minor circuit differences between the three affecting tone. Obviously 50% more wattage alone in the DVls will make them somewhat louder. The main difference, which is huge, is the number and type of speakers. Compared to the 1x12, the 2x12 will have much more bass and volume, and the 2x12 will have deeper low-end than the 4x10. Compared to the 1x12, the 4x10 will have more volume and a tighter low-end, not quite the deep low-end of the 2x12, but more like a kidney-punching low-end with stronger mid-range. If you add the 1x12 ext cab to your HRDlx, it will be very close in sound to the HRDvl 2x12, but with somewhat less volume. The overall tone of the three amps is fairly similar, except for the differences described above.
