I use a Princeton with an effects pedal connected to the power in and pre out jacks on the amp,an effects loop through the pre amp. Recently the batteries died while playing and the amp went silent. Now the only way the amp will work is if the pedal is connected. Without it the amp will fade in and out and then go silent. If I jumper he two jacks it works fine as well. So any ideas what happened?

I've ran across several problems with the ribbon cable and the connector on the pcb. I've replaced the cable on several amps, and sometimes even that doesn't cure the problem. If corrosion has built up between the socket on the cable and the pins on the connector, even replacing the cable won't solve the problem.
