Before this thread I believed - naively perhaps - that the country of origin of a product is a simple matter to determine. Now I'm not so sure.

I found the following article Complying with the Made in USA Standard by the Bureau of Consumer Protection on the Federal Trade Commission website very informative.

Cheers!

Here, I'll make this easy for everybody: It was made on planet Earth!

Made On Earth. New acronym, MOE. Example: MOE bettah!

8)

Back in the day (60's/70's), a family member had a job taking Made in Japan stickers off of electronics and replacing them with Made in USA stickers -- a testament to the quality of Japanese products! Then, the company got busted and had to make their products as good as the Japanese products or quit switching labels, they quit switching labels. All of the sudden Made in Japan meant something good!

Obviously, the Supersonic in question was designed and assembled in the USA with some international parts.

Me? I don't care as long as the product works as described!

Just using Google image search I found this:

Image

It pretty clearly says:
A PRODUCT OF:
FENDER MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS CORP
CORONA, CA, USA
MADE IN USA

I'm sorry Stratele52, maybe it's the language barrier, but I have no idea why you are still arguing 4 pages into this discussion. At least two people here have spoken to Fender and have been told that the SS series is made in the USA. The amp itself says, "Made in USA". So unless there's some big conspiracy here to lie to everyone, I'd suggest you start posting some actual evidence that the amp is not constructed in the USA and cut it with the baseless speculation.

In case you didn't notice PTM, the other SS label clearly did not have "Made in USA" anywhere on it. Which was the point made by stratele52 to begin with.

If the SS shown before was Made in USA, why isn't it on the label?

It is on the label, it just didn't have quite enough room to print the letters all the way down from top to bottom.

Source: Complying with the Made in USA Standard
Must U.S. content be disclosed on products sold in the U.S.?
U.S. content must be disclosed on automobiles and textile, wool, and fur products. There’s no law that requires most other products sold in the U.S. to be marked or labeled Made in USA or have any other disclosure about their amount of U.S. content. However, manufacturers and marketers who choose to make claims about the amount of U.S. content in their products must comply with the FTC’s Made in USA policy.

Even though a product may not be required to have its country of origin displayed, from a marketing perspective it makes sense to promote the fact that it is made in the U.S.A. so the absence of the "Made in the U.S.A." moniker may suggest to some that the product is not American made.

My American Deluxe is labeled "Made in U.S.A." but there is no such indication on my FSR American Standard. Perhaps someone can take a look at his American Special or Highway One and let us know. ... Wondering how the American-made signature models are labeled.

Cheers!

For some I guess the saga does indeed continue, but it's as plain as day, mine does say (Made In USA) on the back, I don't know how I missed it before, but it's clearly there. It's not completely printed but, you can make it out, I have it circled in red here.

I agree PTM, to anyone who's not quite convinced, how about posting some actual evidence that the amp is not constructed in the USA.

I've been quietly watching this thread and at this point I have to agree with Rocksmith. The SS he shows in the photo is made in the USA.

Maybe Fender should put this on their USA made amps like they do on their USA made guitars:

One thing that's for sure, this forum improves your vision of things. I will never look at a guitar or amp the same way ever again!

I'll always look for the catch...what's the catch here.

The prefect cure for foot 'n mouth disease!

That part wasn't apparent in the other picture that you posted. :?

Amazing that we all missed that, and the other picture was removed for some reason. But, that's what we want to see; "Made in USA".

Thanks for clearing that up.
