Every Fender amp has where it's made written on the back, maybe not written how you think or want it to be, but it's there.

Sure, when it says it's a product of FMIC, Corona, CA, USA, and has no made in such and such, where do you think it's made? It could only be USA. Like I said before, if it were made anywhere else, they would let you know somewhere on the amp. Since there's nothing more, in this case, it's USA, duh.

So you think shimmilou is wrong when he write about is Champion 600 ;

" The C600 also says "Fender Musical Instruments Corp. Corona, California", but is made in China, and that part is inside on a separate label. But, if Fender says that the SS is made in USA, then they should know. Strange that it doesn't s

Assembled in the USA is not to say that there aren't any cost-cutting measures in place.

I bet you the circuit boards are made in china. I deal with a co. which made boards for Peavey & they lost the contract to a board mft. in china a few years ago. Unfortunately, its nearly impossible for US companies to compete. I believe most fender amps are assembled in Mexico.

Fender has had a long-standing relationship with Mexico going back to the mid/late '70s, when FMI/CBS began contracting out eyelet-board assembly there for their silverface models. The labor force was quite skilled and the quality of these boards was exceedingly high, with most of the components used being of US origin. Of course many of the assembly technicians at Fullerton were also of Mexican descent, some of them hiring on back when Leo first started the company.

In any country we can found skilled people. But these years with cost cutting / cheap labor ,we never know the truth.

In the Leo Fender time, all Fender worker was trainned by people who whant to build a better product. We know Leo throw some amps down on the floor to test them. Not sure many company do that today.

That's interesting info about fender mft. The USA regulations on the mft. of circuit boards on just the wastewater part of the process are intense, costly, & time consuming.
& This does not take other mft. expenses into account.
However, these regulations are necessary to ensure clean water.. something china doesnt care about.
If anyone is interested, google: 40cfr433. or see:
http://www.cwea.org/pdf/tcp/resources/40cfr433.pdf

You will have an idea of only 1 of the components of the USA board MFts regulatory responsibilities & expenses are.

So where do you think the American Vintage Reissue Guitars are made? they also don't have (Made In USA) written anywhere on them, nor do any of the Fender Custom Shop guitars, and we all know, some how, where all of these guitars are made, why is it any different with amps?

Guitar in not different than amp . We never know just by looking the guitar . But most of the time serial number say the country of origin.

+1, although instrument serials can sometimes be ambiguous.

Here are some production prefix codes for amplifiers and the country-of-origin for the models that they translate to......

081 -- Custom Shop, USA
021 -- Vintage Re-issue, USA
216 -- Pro Tube, USA
222 -- Vintage Modified, Mexico
223 -- Hot Rod, Mexico
229 -- Cyber Series, Mexico
231 -- FM & Frontman, Peoples' Republic Of China
233 -- Vintage Modified, Peoples' Republic Of China
235 -- GDEC, Peoples' Republic Of China

There are likely other prefix codes for products made in Malaysia, Vietnam, and India.

That was then, pilgrim (up until 2002).

Eleven years ago, the "American Tube Series" Hot Rods and Blues models all carried the "021" production prefix code.

This is now. And my assertion is supported by facts straight out of the 2002 Frontline catalog.

Homeboy! All I was saying if you read it, is the ORIGINAL SERIES was made in Brea, California USA. I know they make stuff in many other countries son! My NOS Blues Junior was made in good old Mexico, buddy! It was not a put down on my part pointing that out bro! Just like yourself sir! I'm a big fan of Fender. I worked for Musicman and Fender back in the mid to late 70s. Merry Christmas! Try to enjoy the holidays! This has been a rough enlightening year for myself and, even worst for others. Cheers!
