Hi
I have a TRRI with 1 6L6 tube ( outside centre ) that does not glow.
The tubes have all been tested OK, sound quality seems to be OK, it just doesn't light up.
Warranty is up in about 4 months and would like to deal with a small issue now as opposed to a larger problem later . . . anything ?

Possible heater wiring issue with that particular tube socket?

Check pin 2 and pin 7 for correct 6.3VAC with a DVM. Measure from each pin to chassis ground.

+1 retroverbial ,

Or socket contactneed to be tightened ?

Is it a printed circuit this reissue ? If yes, heater solder broken on printed circuit if no voltage on tube side of socket .

I was thinking the pilot light was out.

But I guess the 6.3 volt supply would equate...

It's all parallel-wired, Art.

You could pull the #47 bulb out of the socket and it wouldn't affect the continuity with the rest of the heater line.

Yeah, I know. I was making a joke. Typically a pair of green wires twisted together on the old Fenders, correct?

" I have a TRRI with 1 6L6 tube ( outside centre ) that does not glow. "

If you swap 6L6GCs around does the non-lit tube stay with the same socket or follow one particular tube? Just to rule out tube versus socket.

reburg write "tube all benn tested OK"

But as in all these forums, we do not know the person and his ability has to do verifications requested. We can not be sure of
