Yesterday i finally tested my Fender Red Knob THe Twin amp for the first time with a gibson Les Paul. It sounded nice but presented to issues:

1. Muddy and distorted notes between the 11th and 17th frets on the low E string. MOstly bass notes.

2. You can hear both the clean and overdrive channel bleed even with the volume at 0 when you play the guitar. For example having the guitar in 10 and the amp volumes at 0 you can still hear a little bit of the guitar going through the speakers.

SHould i consider changing the filter caps? or could these problems be attributable to other issues?

Has the amp ever been serviced? If not, it is probably due for a cap job and a bench check.

Is this the same red knob The Twin that you had to buy all new pots for and after being given several sources never bothered to follow up on?

Did you replace all of the pots? More importantly, did you replace them correctly?

" Muddy and distorted notes between the 11th and 17th frets on the low E string. "

And this only happens with the LP? Sounds almost like a fret or neck alignment issue. Or the height of the pups.
