I've auditioned a Blues Deluxe RI but haven't been able to find a Blues DeVille RI to try, so does anyone know what the relative tonal difference and volume difference is between the two?

Blues Deluxe Reissue = 40 watts
Blues DeVille Reissue = 60 watts

I'm not sure how much 60 watts will really translate vs 40. I presume it will give me more headroom before breakup which may be either good or bad depending on how I use it with pedals.

Thanks
MrM

The tone stacks are identical. With a few minor differences, the circuits are identical. Depending on the efficency of the speakers, the difference in volume between 40 and 60 watts is minimal. Both amps can be quite loud. Four 10" speakers are capable of more bass than one 12" speaker due to the difference in surface area.

My Fender manual that came with my Blues Deluxe RI says its 60watts. It also says the Blues Deluxe is a bassman circuit in the normal channel.

The owner's manual that comes with the Blues Deluxe Reissue says no such thing:

The owner's manual that came with the original USA made Blues Deluxe says that the normal channel is based on the Bassman which is greatly stretching the truth. With the exception of the tone stack, the Blues Deluxe preamp (original or Reissue) looks nothing like that of the 59 Bassman. The original Blues Deluxe owner's manual does say the amp is 60 watts, which is totally false. The amp is and always was, 40 watts. Only the Blues Deville original and Reissue are 60 watts.
