Ahhh, The lack of a cap across R5 explains why my LP sounds like crap when played through it and my Fender single coils sing.

The cap creates a "bright" input.

Well bluesky, I got 1/2 way through a couple of your threads before I thought I needed to get off of the computer and play some Strat. I'm up to chapter 4 in my Weber book also. I also went on Tubestore.com and looked at some kits, but I think I will spend more time learning before I invest. Thanks for the guidance thus far.

These are the books I have and recommend. They cover a wide range from purely pleaseure reading to heavy math (I have a BSEE).
