Hello all! Just wondering if the "PWR IN" Power in input on the back of my Fender 212 DSP combo will allow me to plug my Mesa/Boogie Quad Guitar Pre-amp with out blowing it up. Also, if anyone has used this as a power amp, is there anything I should be aware of and does it sound okay? Please and thank you!

I'm pretty sure that's what it's for. Just turn all the knobs down on everything including the preamp because you want to start slow.

The preamp section of the 2x12 DSP will be disabled when using the Power Amp In, meaning that the volume and tone controls of the 2x12 won't work, and you control the volume and tone with your MB preamp.

i can plug my zoom g3 into the power amp input of my amp. what would be an advantage over plugging it in thru the front input?

I have the Zoom G3X and have tried it both ways. The Zoom has a setting in global settings I think the first one is "Combo Front" and the other is "Combo Power Amp" or something like that.

To be honest, I didn't notice a dramatic difference but if you go in the power amp it's a little harder to control the volume because you have to do it through the Zoom. The advantage would be if you had a preamp that did a lot of coloring you could bypass it and let the Zoom be what it wants to be.
