I am looking to get my first amp, and am considering Fender amps, both SS and tube. These are the features I am looking for:

Two channels, clean and lead/distortion (w/footswitch)
Effects loop for my multi-effects units
XLR or Line output to PA System
Both Preamp and Master volume controls

Separate EQ controls for each channel would be nice but that would probably only be available in more expensive amps. I am looking for the smallest amp available with these features, since I would be transporting it to church twice a week.

The one other question I have is how you would control the volume of the output to the PA system. Is there a separate control for that volume, or is it the same as the speaker volume controlled by the normal volume controls, or is that volume constant no matter how loud the amp is set? I am not sure how that works, so it makes it easier for the sound guys on the board.

What type of amp would you suggest with these features?

It depends- what kind of sound do you want and how much $ are you willing to spend?

I want a basic clean tone and an overdriven/distortion tone from the two channels, or from a boost function of the amp. If I could get a good distortion tone from the lead channel, then I could use an overdrive pedal in front of it for an overdriven tone from the clean channel. Or I would use a distortion pedal in front of the lead channel to get a heavier distortion tone than the lead channel itself, which would be my crunch/overdrive tone. I play background rhythm guitar, so I wouldn't necessarily need it for a loud lead solo tone.

I would also want to be able to use my multi-effects pedals through the effects loop to get other amp tones, using their modeling, or just for additional effects.

I wanted to see what Fender amps might have these features to see how big and heavy each are, and how much each costs. I would hope to be able to get something fairly small like this for less than $500.

Do you know of anything that would work for my needs?

Thank you for your help. I am going to go with a Kustom HV-30 amp that is a hybrid amp that has the features I need.
