Sounds really nice, did you record it straight out of the box or did you edit it with eq software.

I don't know how to edit  I have a simple setup, mic into a Presonus 2-ch box and I use Cubase LE.

You got a great deal! Looks brand new!

Trem tick is very common with these amps, I'm not a trem guy so I never use it... not sure what you mean by more bass, ch 1 is warmer, ch 2 has the bright cap. You can do the "Fritz" mod to bring reverb/vibrato to the normal ch or clip the bright cap.

BTW I'm in the Tampa Bay area.

And "Fritz" also came up with a fix for the ticky tremlo as well which as Cedarblues mentioned, is common.

I'm in the Tampa area as well. I haven't seen any for that price, and that clean. You got a great deal on that one. Enjoy it!

I was just wondering if you added eq from some kind of computer recording software like the cubase( I know nothing about computer recording or cubase , I use a Korg d1200)to enhance the sound. It sounds really nice and warm. I think I'll just clip the cap for now and maybe add the reverb mod later. Thanks for the schematic btw. While I'm in there I'd like to check the bias. No doubt it's factory set. Are these 6v6's the same pinout as a 6l6. I made up a bias probe for a 6l6. I have to measure the plate voltage separately though. Can't remember what pin off hand it is on a 6l6. Have to check my notes. I'm actually up in Weeki Wachee. Met the guy in Carrolwood Whole Foods parking lot. Seems like all my deals are in parking lots these days. Gotta love the CL deals around here.

Thanks Art. It's brand new. The guy was asking 711.00 for it and I offered him 525.00 and he went for it. He said he lost interest and never used it much at all. I see these go for around 550.00 now and then on fleabay in new cond. and I'd rather save shipping and see it in person any day. I'm amazed at some of the good deals around here. I picked up a brand new cond. 2009 olympic white American Standard Strat for 450.00 right here it Weeki Wacky. He was asking 800.00 It's my favorite guitar and it goes well with this amp. Everyone around here lowballs me, so I return the favor. Sometimes I get lucky. I've had people even offer to trade machine guns and chickens.

You are in the boonies. No doubt those trades take place after hours. I just never seem to have the cash when the deals are around. This economy sucks. I'd like a DRRI, but I'd like a Vibrolux Reverb more. Could get the new Custom Vibrolux and retube/recap the thing to get the right tone. Don't know why Fender didn't leave well enough alone and just reissue the Vibrolux instead of coming out with that Custom thing. 2x10 is a sweet sounding combo.

Actually it's a zoo up here in Spring Hill. Brutally crowded at times. Everyone's from NY so basically it's little New York.
The thing I like about the DR is it's a bit lighter and I don't need the extra power from the 6L6's. My HRD was way to loud for me.
I always like to keep 500.00 cash on hand just in case a good deal comes up.

I have a HRDlx III and it is a little bit easier to control than the earlier one's. My Twin Reverb is the one that doesn't get a lot of use. But I grew up on those. Back in the day, nobody mic'd the cabs, no monitors, no wonder we say "What?" so much, :?

The HRD I had was a III also with the better volume pot. Had nice cleans but the dirt ch. just bugged me, and had no low end. I changed out a cap to let through more lows but it made it too farty. If it just had the clean ch., and weighed less, I might've kept it but the 6L6's were just to loud when it finally saturated. It seemed to take pedals nicely. For 100.00 more, i'm glad I got the DRRI. It's a keeper for me. I actually kind of like ch.2 the way it is. When it's cranked up, it seems to warm up good enough for me. And since this amp barely got used, the spkr probably needs breaking in. I have so many spkrs that I'll swap them in and out for the heck of it sometime later. I have a V30 Hellatone 60, Sidewinder and a EV12L that i might try out for the fun of it. I also have a Hellatone 60L that is bassier but it's a 16 ohm.I'm not sure if that would damage the amp. If it just lowered the output, that might be good for recording at lower levels. I have read many favorable suggestions for a hemp coned spkr so I might eventually go that route for the final swap.

I always play my DRRI with the volume around 6-7, I control the volume with my guitar... anything past 6 is heavenly

BTW my buddy has a Blues jam in Land O' Lakes Sunday at Ukulele Brand's, he does it once a month... it starts at 5 PM, you guys should come out and enjoy some good music! It's outside and the weather is perfect this Sunday! I'll be bringing one of my DRs of course, it's perfect for that kinda setting :)

Thanks cb, gotta go to Clearwater Sunday. I realize now after some time with the amp, it has to be at least at 4 to 5 to open up the tubes. Anything under that lacks, anything over that sings. Haven't had the chance to go up past 6 yet. Everything in the room starts to rattle, including my family.

My goodness, I'm just loving this amp more and more. I think I'll just leave it stock and keep on enjoying it the way it is. I can really see now why so many people love these amps.
