I have a supersonic twin and I want
to add a 3x10 cab . My ext jack needs
to see 16 ohms . so do I do 2 4ohms
and 1 8ohm , or can I run three 4ohms
and mismatch a little . What would be
the sound disadvantage of running
with one 8 ohm and two 4 ohm
will the 4ohm speakers not be heard
at all or what . I am clueless to how
this would work

Why do you say the external jack needs to see 16 ohms? What is the impedance of the main speaker? The owner's manual has a chart that shows the impedance combinations and how to set the impedance selector.

MAIN + EXTERNAL = IMPEDANCE SELECTOR Setting
16Ω + None = 16Ω
16Ω + 16Ω = 8Ω
8Ω + None = 8Ω
8Ω + 8Ω = 4Ω
4Ω + None = 4Ω

All speakers should have the same impedance. The amp's power will be divided inversely as the impedance. A 4 ohm will see twice the wattage of an 8 ohm. But, twice the wattage does not translate to twice the volume. There will be an undesireable imbalance in volume, but not as you've expected.

Use all speakers of the same impedance configured to match the overall impedance of the internal ones as closely as possible.

If you use three 16 ohm speakers in the ext cab (wired in parallel = approx 5.3 ohms), in conjunction with the two 8 ohm speakers in the amp (wired in series for 16 ohms), you will essentially get 4 ohms total speaker impedance. In that case, set the impedance selector switch to 4 ohms to match the impedance. With this configuration, you can use either the 8 ohm, or 4 ohm positions of the impedance selector switch on the amp, one way might sound better to you.

As stated above in previous posts, try to keep your impedences matched. I know my Supersonic Twin came configured with 2 x 8ohm speakers wired in series to create a 16ohm internal cab impedence, so I am certain yours is too (but do check). So you can put anything from an 8ohm to a 16 ohm external cab into the extension jack, but for the most balanced sound the extension cab should match the internal cab impedance, (and wattage). You will just need to select the correct impedence on the impedence selector (it will be iether 4ohm or 8ohm in this case).

Shimmilou YOU HIT THE NAIL ON
THE HEAD . That is what I will
do. I think that will work
great with the 4 ohm switch
thanks alot man
