Hey!
I happen to have a Fender Blues Junior III. As you may know, it has only one channel. Nevertheless it is equipped with both a master- and a regular volume-knob. Why a master knob? How/when to use these two adjustment controls (in conjunction)?

I suggest you start by reading the owner's manual.

For clean, turn the Master up very high then slowly increase the Volume knob until desired volume is achieved. This will result in minimal pre-amp distortion and perhaps slight pwr tube OD.

For dirty sound, reverse the process; turn the Volume up very high and then slowly increase the Master until desired volume is achieved. This will cause significant pre-amp distortion and minimal, if any, pwr tube OD.

Experiment to get sounds in between.

And Yes, by all means read the manual.

Thank you both for answering. Yes, I will read the manual - you made it easy to understand the english/american way of instructing via the amp-manual.

Hi guys, this is my first post to this forum, so I hope I'm doing it right by using this topic. I just bought a beautiful blues jr III special edition. It's the gorgeous blue one, with the eminence patriot speaker. The thing is, I bought it in Portugal and so it's 230V. Here in Brazil, where I live, we use mostly 127V. I bought a transformer, and even planned to attach it to the inside of the amp, but a friend of mine, who knows a great deal about hi-fi tube amps, told me that that wouldn't be the best solution. He suggested I looked inside the amp to see if there was a switch, but he also said that even if I didn't find the switch, that there might be some way to conver it. He said that some manufacturers allow this option and that I should look into that. I googled it and found nothing helpful. Can any of you guys help me?

Thank you

By the way, I did open it up and there is no switch, but there's an empty connector right next to the font, and I suspect that this has something to do with it.

Suggest you contact Fender for the best way to handle it. At the top of the page, click "Support", then "Contact Us"

Posting a different problem in someone's thread that is not related to the original question is called "hi-jacking" a thread and is frowned upon.

In any case, your friend doesn't know as much about amps as he thinks. You need a different transformer, either a step down transformer to go from 230 volts to 127 volts or an entirely new power transformer. Since the US uses 120 volts, I would not guarantee that a US spec power transformer would work for you. As suggested, contact Fender for the best advice.

Thanks guys, no more hijacking from now on :) I thought that since this topic was titled "Blues jr III" it would mess things up to open a new topic to talk about the same amp. I'll call fender and address the issue. Strange how there isn't an email on the contact menu though. International calls can be expensive.

Cheers
