Hello and thank you in advance for your time,

After searching for a great sounding DRRI for over a few months I finally purchased one that sounded great to my ears. After a few days of playing around with it however, I discovered that the Reverb would make feedback that would get louder with every second until it was unbearable when pushed past 6 or 7.
I live in Aspen, CO where I am 4 hours away from the Guitar Centers in and around Denver that I have visited searching for the right deluxe reverb and where I ended up purchasing one, and at the moment have not had a car with which I can drive the round trip of 8 hrs again.
So I took my Deluxe reverb to the only authorized repair center for a couple hundred miles where the amp tech said that his fix was to flip the reverb tank upside down. I have left the amp with him as he said that the people he spoke to at Fender agree with his solution to this malady.

Come to find out as I call Fender support myself today, the gentleman assisting me was very much against this idea.

Can I please have a definitive answer?

Thank you.

The reverb tank should not be solidly attached to the bottom of the cab -- it should be allowed to "float" somewhat within the bag to prevent the sonic resonances within the cab from being transmitted to the tank via physical contact. You might try adding a thin sheet of foam rubber (¼" thick or so) between the bag and the cab to provide additional isolation. Screw the bag down only tight enough that it's securely held in position.

Flipping the tank upside down as a fix seems unusual to me. If Fender recommend that, why aren't they built that way to begin with?

Thank you fellas,
"Why aren't they built that way to begin with?"
Was my thought exactly.
The job is already done, I just want to know that
It will perform as it should and that I won't run into any
other complication because of it.

I wouldn't be betting the deed to the family ranch on it.

It's been my observation that there are only two types of long-plate 12AX7's......

Those that are microphonic and those that will become microphonic.
