I have a USA model Pro Jr, only mod is a Weber California Series speaker. It's been an awesome amp until recently, the tone has gone (for a lack of a better word), muddy sounding, almost muffled. Volume still seems to be about the same, but that great tone is gone! Replaced the tubes( 2 new Tung Sol 12AX7, and 2 new JJ EL84), didn't help. Tone control still works, but instead of low to high tone it goes from bad to
worse. I tried another speaker, no change. I know it could be a hundred different things, and probably I just need to take it to a shop, but thought maybe someone had some ideas as to the problem! Thanks!!!

MVE...Yes, it could be a ton of things, take it to a good tech and save yourself a whole lot of frustration.

Hi mve4158,

Some of the more common problems include, power supply filter caps, coupling caps, and broken solder joints. It's a simple amp compared to most others, and fairly easy to work on. You've already apparently ruled out the most common source of problems, the tubes. If it's any help, here are the schematics.
