GuitarDennis,

I recently recorded some stuff for my band through a Hot Rod Deville. With a little tweaking and the above-mentioned Tube Screamer TS-9, we got some really nice tones, especially for leads.

Thanks for the reply! I need about 30-40 watts for normal gigs.

I liked the hot rod deluxe texas red ltd with the celestion speaker very much, but much people say that the drive channels aren't so good and that they have many problems with those amp. My question is now:
Do the drive channels just suck or do most people think that because they play metal, hard rock and cant get enough drive out of the hot rod.

I just need to get an bluesy tone like clapton.

So is the hot rod deluxe a good amp for me?

I have the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (bought it a year ago), and I've been happy with it so far. From what I've heard, it is an amp for mostly Rock and Blues. I love the sound that it puts out, plenty of volume, and not too big or heavy to lug around. I have the black version.

The overdrive that's built in, seems ok for bluesy type playing, but it does have a lot of hiss in the "more drive" setting. However, if you're not happy with the built in overdrive, you can always use a pedal to get the exact sound that you want. I use a Boss OS-2 pedal and I think it sounds great through this amp.

Also.....people who own the Blues Deluxe and Blues JR. seem very happy with those models as well.

Best thing you could do is head to your local music store and give them all a try. It's YOUR ears that you have to please.
