I recently bought a Fender Champ 12. As it is an all tube amp with headphone plug I wonder what kind of headphones I can plug into it. The online available schematics reveals 15mW of power into 8Ohms for the headphone (the original manual is not available on the web - maybe someone could have a look in his manual for me...). From previous experience I know that output transformers of tube amps are very sensitive when it comes to impedance loads above the specifications. However, 8Ohm headphones are hardly available today...

I gave it a first try with a 70Ohm headphone and it worked (at least the transformer did not explode :-) But I'd like to be sure what charge I can load to the amp and what not...

Another issue to that amp: the Reverb control does not seem to change its effect much - is this normal or should I have a look inside?

Thanks & Regards
