Has anyone ever heard of a Blues Jr. being made in the U.S. I was pretty positive that they are exclusively made in Mexico but some guy told me otherwise. I think he's full of it. Anyone know for sure?

The plate right on the back of the amp says:

Made in Mexico.

Any Fender amp that's made somehwere other than USA will clearly state the country of origin on the back panel or tube label.

The Blues Junior amp was built in USA from approx. 1993 to 2003. Since then, they have been built in Mexico.

Around the time of the production move, we made a couple of improvements to the shielding and the Reverb, so the newer ones actually sound better to most people.

Thanks,
Shane

I absolutely hate my Mexican strat, The quality of the guitar is practically like a childs toy and i have to repair the guitar often. The guitar lasted about 3 years, now it is worthless.

I think he has a valid question about the origin of the amp. Now that i know the blues junior is made in Mexico, I am not going to buy it.

I own a Blues Junior as well, and I think if I had to do it all over again. I would have saved for a Custom Vibrolux Reverb which is made in the USA on the custom shop line, they go for $999.00. And in the meantime just played through my Frontman 15R. oh well.

Made in America means a lot to me, I'm an American go figure.

I know national pride is something Americans have lost and many other virtues have been tossed along the road as well, it really shows!!!!!

I am very proud of my 1993 Blues Devilee 4x10 and the plate on the back that says Made In The U.S.A.

I wouldnt buy a marshall not made in England either so there!!!!!!

Cool. That's more Blues Juniors for the rest of us.

And since the Blues Junior retains most of its value and the "used" price doesn't decline over time, Nicinflorida can still have his CVR. Or a store might offer him a nice trade-in price.

Gotta say, I don't care where Fender makes the amps; it's still an American company. Its management bought out the owners and brought it back from death's door in the mid 1990s and has doubtless created many American jobs in the process, even if fewer of them are assembly line workers.

Also, I've been inside hundreds of Blues Juniors, made in both factories, and the quality is high and absolutely consistent.

Made in Baja. It's a great little amp. The 12 inch speaker is key. It's got the highs but also deep rich tone, not just that screechy cheap amp sound I was used to getting. It opens up a whole different dimension with your lower octave strings, and gives up nothing on the highs. Tons of power for a hobbyist like me. I can't get to 3 on the volume knob without peeling the paint of the walls.

I'm the only guy who ever put JJs AND a Rocket 50 in a BJ. And I'm not telling how great it sounds. Fender has excellent QC in Ensenada. China not so much, but the Mex amps are good stuff.

I got these off of the Blues Jr's spec sheet. I dont see Mexico on there.
Does that mean that they arent made there anymore or am I missing something? Merry Christmas!

Those specs are about electrical power. They have nothing to do with the amp's origin.
