Of course, plugging anything related to "death metal" into an amp is cause for concern about the amp.

What about the corpus mentis of the owner?

At the risk of infuriating the resident trolls still further, I'd like to offer another idea.

Maybe if you were really blasting loudly through the amp you managed to damage one of the speakers. You may be able to diagnose this by carefully listening to the sounds your amp is producing, and hearing if they are in one or the other speaker. I've had a blown speaker in my car and it did make kind of an intermittent hissing/chewing sound like you're describing.

WARNING: by listening to your amp you could hurt yourself. This type of work is best left to an experienced technician with proper training and qualifications.

If it turns out you do have a damaged speaker the easiest thing is to upgrade both of them to new ones. Lots of good choices out there. Think Eminence, Jensen, Celestion, Weber. If money is tight consider these guys http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdet ... er=299-407

Thank you all for your answers,
I would like to add that the noise stops for large amounts of time,
when I play.

I bought a good cable-no difference.

P.S The death metal comment was funny(as I tried it only because I was curious to remember my teenage heavy metal years)and as long as the comment debate it really
made me grab the popcorn!
