I recently acquired a 1985 Concert II (1x12).... It's an absolutely amazing amp. I have no problems with it other than the fact that I tried plugging a second cable into input 2 while I had my instrument plugged into input 1. The amp simply died and wouldn't power up until the next day. I was freaked out, because this shouldn't happen, and my amp tech thought this shouldn't have happened. I haven't done it again since.

Has anyone had the same problem, or is this clearly an issue with my amp that I have to resolve. And if this is the case, does anyone have a sense (guess) of what the problem might be?

Thanks very much in advance!

Nick

Just to satisfy my curiousity, what was connected to the other end of that second cable?

I had a stringed instrument plugged into input 1, and then plugged just a guitar cable (with no instrument) into input 2.

I took the risk and just plugged into both inputs, no problem now. Still want to know why it shorted out on me a couple weeks ago when I did this.

Thanks,
Nick

Just simply to see whether I could have 2 inputs at the same time.... I've owned dozens of amps, and I've always been able to plug two instruments into both inputs (on 2 input amps).

I don't do this for anything other than testing the amp. I exclusively use only one input when gigging or practicing, 100%. Just to be clear.
