Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me anything about these amps, as there doesn't seem to be any info on the Fender support website?
I'm looking for 2 small (lightweight) amps to play small pub gigs. I'm using a Vox Toneworks LE as my effects pedal, so all I need is a good clean tone. 50 or 60 watts should be loud enough and I just don't want to have to haul a heavy amp around (I'm old!)
I'm also looking at 2 Champion 110's or 2 Frontman 25's, or one Deluxe 112 Plus.
Any info/thoughts/better ideas?
Many Thanks
The Finger

You don't need "50 or 60 watts" for a "small pub gig". 25 watts should be more than adequate, especially of you are running through a PA system. All of the amps you are looking at are cheap, solid state amps, hardly of pro quality if you are a serious musician. What is your budget for an amp?

Thanks for replying. I have to admit I'm not a "serious musician"; if I were I wouldn't be asking about cheap amps! I just want to have some guitar hero type fun before I snuff it!! So my budget is £40 or so for each amp - the going rate on ebay. The Vox Tonemaster LE gives me all the tonal variations I need to play the musical styles I use and so all I need is some loud. So my idea is to have 2 small, light amps with a good clean channel. This should give me all the power I need and more as well as a back-up in case one amp dies on the job, plus ease of portability - I'd love a Twin or a Deville but my back wouldn't stand the weight!
If 25 watts is indeed all I need for smallish pub gigs I'll just leave one in the back of my car or sell it!
As for going through a p.a, I probably will, but it will be a small one, at least at first; I considered buying an active p.a speaker but I think I'll get a better tone through a speaker voiced for guitar.
Comments welcome. Cheers, The Finger

I have a Frontman 25R with an Eminence Ragin Cajun in it. Clean channel is good. My other amps are tube (Weber 5F6A Bassman clone that I built, Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue that I have highly modified, and Fender Champion 600 that I completely rebuilt to a 5F1 Champ configuration). I do not play out and have no idea how the 25R will do in a gig. I have no experience with the othe amps.
