Nope. My 5E3 is the only tweed I have.

Why?

What will the Bassman LTD provide that the SRRI doesn't?

What are you looking for tonally?

Well, story is this: SRRI sits there. Has sat there for about 2 years now getting very little use. It's just too heavy and therefore awkward to haul around. I was thinking it's too loud as well, but I did use it for an unmiked outdoor gig last month and the 4-10's were actually a good thing to have - more so for "spread" than loudness.

I made the call to try and sell the SRRI. I put it up for sale locally (not going to ship this monster) and there has been zero interest. A few days ago, a local guy contacted me to inquire about a trade. He's been equally unsuccessful unloading his Bassman, and he's looking for a SRRI.

Value wise they're about equal. Same with condition. Bassman is equally loud, but my musical style over the past few years has really gone toward the tweed style sound. The times I am playing the SRRI, I've usually got the reverb and tremolo shut off.

Have you played a 59 Bassman LTD and compared it to the SRRI? I would be willing to bet that the difference in sound between it and the SRRI will be much less than the difference between the 5E3 Deluxe and the SRRI. The phase inverter and power tube circuits of the Bassman LTD and SRRI are almost identical. True, the preamps are very different (location of the tone stack, cathode follower in the Bassman LTD, etc.) which will sound different. You will need to use a 12AY7 in V1 of the Bassman LTD to capture more of the original 5F6A tone. The Bassman LTD is about 15 lbs lighter than the SRRI. Unlike the 5E3, the Bassman LTD will have to be driven quite hard and loud before breakup starts. The 5E3 and Bassman LTD are probably at polar opposites with regard to the "Tweed sound".

Should you trade? Well, only you can make that decision. I do suggest that you sit down and compare the two side-by-side before making any decisions. I will say that I love the sound of the Weber 5F6A clone that I built and wouldn't trade it for any other amp on the market.
