I am looking for a good tube amp combo. Requirements are:

2 channels
15 to 40 watts, but prefer 40
Reverb
it must be able to get chunky and clean up really nicely
Last but not least, be under $900. New amps only

I have looked and played the Fender Blues Deluxe, an Orange Dual Terror, and Marshall Haze. I am leaning towards the Fender, but would like to know if there are other brand gems out there that are awesome that I haven't been able to play due to not being carried at my music store.

If you could post sound clips, twould be helpful. Thanks in advance,

RK

While you are waiting for some gurus, I'll chime in. If you like the BDlx, then the HRDlx might just be what you need. It has the "More Drive" option to get into the hard rock territory with humbuckers, and has a great clean with single coils or humbuckers comparable to the BDlx. The version III has proven itself so far to be a great amp. I have the version I, 14 years and counting, and it can handle any style of music and any guitar quite well.

This does clean up well, although not as sweet as the DRRI. Love mine. But just make sure you get the HRDLx III and not one of the older ones. Sounds great with Jaguar, Tele, and Les Paul. Sounds even better with the closed back extension cab.

One thing to remember, in your price range, all of the amps will be made with printed circuit boards and must be handled with care (when compared to the abuse that the vintage amps took.)

Thanks for the replies so far. I do like tones of the Blues Deluxe, can't wait to play one with one of my guitars to see how they mesh.
