Howdy folks! I recently had the opportunity to lay down a guitar track on a video song my friend wrote and produced. I used a strat and the Greta amp. No pedals , mic'd with a sure sm57 into a computer. I had Greta's volume on about 3 out of 10. For a decent sound. Mist of the song I'm just doing texture stuff but about 2 min in or so I have a nice tasty guitar lick that shows off the sound well. Hope you enjoy. And that is also me playing the saw : )

Wow! Excellent production values!

As for the amp - little amps have such a big sound in the studio!

Thanks for the kind words! In all honesty all I did was lay some trax. My buddy Jon Logan is the man at the board. You can see more of his stuff by following the YouTube channels etc. I love that small amp sound. You really can make the tones sound huge in the studio. That was using the stock 4 inch speaker. I'm thinking about getting a tonetubby 1x8 cab for the Greta for a fatter sound in the studio.they run just over 200$
Cheers

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing that. :D

You had a picture of the Greta with a mic in front of it before, and I wondered where that recording was.

Great job all around. Great guitar playing, but I really dig the saw, killer! Very interesting and unique video, it's very cool to have all of those takes presented at the same time.

Is the mic a USB version, or is there an interface between the mic and computer? I ask because I have a Samson C01U USB condenser mic that I've used straight into computer and it sounds pretty good for a $100 mic.

Hey right on! Glad you liked it! I really dig the video song format. Lets you see what's happening. The mics used were all standard cables into a patchbay of some kind Yhats plugged into the computer. I will be seeing the guy later today and will get some of the specifics on the gear he used ad the progr he uses etc!
I got the saw as a birthday present. I'd been wanting a theremin and didn't want to spend the dough. I got interested in the saw after hearing some cool recordings that featured it. I still didn't want to spend the 100$ on it but my folks thought it was cool.
It's a lot of fun to play with but I don't use it much...
I've been looking at getting a USB mic sometime. Seems like people are really happy with them and they are affordable.
Cheers!

Hey thanks!! At low volume Greta really gets a good spanky spaghetti western guitar sound (with strat). I will soon be posting the particulars of the recording hardware and software. Thanks for watching!
Cheers

Thanks!! First time I heard a musical saw I had no idea what made that sound but I knew I had to get one! I love my strat so much I don't ever see myself playing another guitar again! Famous last words I suppose but damn I love it!
Cheers!
