Hi guys, I could make on offer on a used fender deluxe 85 amp, that is offered on a local used gear site in my neck of the woods. I don't know the production year, but before I make an offer on it, I wanted to have your opinions. Seems like a good amp, but is it worth $200.00? Thanks in advance. Claude.

It *might* be worth $200. But with an amp that old (the last of these were produced in the early/mid '90s) I'd worry that some parts specific to it are no longer available and if a problem develops, the amp becomes a logistic liability with no practical way to repair it.

Thus, a crap-shoot.

Arjay

Thanks Arjay, I'll think it over, but it doesn't seem to be the deal of the century. :)

I saw the same Amp on Kijiji (Deluxe 90?) but since it is a solid state thing from the 90's I am not sure if you want to waste effort on it. The reviews seem OK (...loud basically).

If it doesn't have a power tube in the circuit...I'm not that interested

I was in fact thinking of buying the amp as a curiosity, because I don't have much experience with gear and I think I need to learn a lot of things. But it will not be the first "kijiji luck" that I pass on. Too loud, too old. Thanks guys.
