Hey fender community, I've been having trouble with my amp. I have a Fender Princeton chorus. I bought it at a guitar center two years back. It was fine until like a week ago. It started making this weird, loud noise, almost like feedback, but the thing is, nothing is plugged in. I unscrewed everything, looked at it, then put it back together. That fixed the problem for a bout a day, then it came back. Has this happened before? Does anyone know what this is? Please help! :?: :?: :?: :?:

Could be a bad tube but there is not enough information to make a determination. Your warranty is for 5 years. Take it back to Guitar Center or another authorized Fender amp tech to be checked out and repaired.

I don't have this schematic but I don't think Princeton Chorus use some tubes .

Maybe not, which means there is even less information to try and base a diagnoses on. In any case, the amp is still under warranty and should go back to the place of purchase for repair.

I think the Princeton Chorus was discontinued in 2002.

I just see Princeton Chorus DSP in the 2001 and 2002 catalogs. Did spankie talk about a DSP or non DSP Princeton Chorus or Princeton Stereo Chorus ?

It's just a standard one. No tubes, only effects are reverb and chorus.

You said you bought it from Guitar Center 2 years ago. Apparently you bought it used, which would have been nice to know.

This is the only Princeton Corus schematic I can find and it is from 1988.

Without more information I wouldn't even attempt to guess what is wrong with your amp. Personally, I would junk it and buy something new.

+1

These solid-state models are for the most part no longer logistically supportable.

That's probably what I'm gonna do, just buy a new one. Better than having to fix it.
