I bought the new Fender deluxe VM and have a question about the 2 channels. Channel 1 nice and clear and loud at only no. 2 volume setting, Channel 2 i have to set at 9 gain and 4 volume in order to match the volume in Channel 1 from going clean to solo.
Is this normal, cause i have to double the channel 2 to get the same volume on channel 1.
Was thinking this is new and maybe i needed a new tube for channel 2.
Let me know what you think.

I don't know enough about the circiuts in this amp, but I would try swapping the 12ax7s around.

Was still wondering if anyone has one and if they keep the volumes on Channel 1 and 2 roughly the same, cause on mine, i have to keep channel 1 volume on 2 and , Channel 2 on volume 4 for them to roughly be the same.

Did you read the owner's manual? Do you understand the difference between a non-master volume amp and a master volume amp?

The clean channel is a non-master volume channel. You only have a single volume control to set the loudness of the amp. The drive channel is a master volume channel. The drive control is in a different part of the circuit from the clean volume control as is the master volume. Setting the clean volume, drive control, and/or master volume to the same settings will not give you the same volume levels between the two channel. You can set the drive and master volume controls to many different combinations. To match the clean channel in loudness you can turn the drive up/master down or drive down/master up. The differences will be in the type and sounds of the distortion you will get.

The schematic shows the three different controls and where they are located in the circuit. I seriously doubt that there is anything wrong with your amp. You just need to learn and understand how the controls function and interact with each other.

When in doubt, RTFOM.

think your right. i don't think there is anything wrong with the amp. only cause channel one seems to have a lot of spunk and power at volume 1.5 and is very touchy, almost to loud for the house. channel 2 i have to match with volume at 3-4 and drive at 7-8 to equal channel 1 volume, guess that is the way it is, Just wondering what FENDER STAFF THINKS. Channel 1 has a lot of power. Channel 2 just has to double it up to get same juice. But i do believe ROCK STAR BOY is right.

You are still not grasping the difference between non-master volume and master volume channels.

And my name is bluesky636 or Bill.
