Hello all, new to the forum, but I love and play Fender guitars and amps. I am having an issue with my Twin Reverb Reissue.
Yesterday, I went out to the garage to practice with my brother and my amp had very little volume output using the vibrato channel set to 4.5. I plugged into the normal channel and it worked fine. Anyone know what could cause this?
I've owned one other tube amp but I don't know much about maintenance due to the fact that I sold the Twin Amp within a year of owning it to get this second hand Twin Reverb.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Possible dead pre-amp tube in the vibrato channel. You might try swapping V1 and V2 (respectively the first tube on the right side of the chassis and the one immediately adjacent to it) to see if the problem migrates to the normal channel. If it does, the tube in the non-operating channel is dead. It might also be a dead tube at the V3 or V4 position.

I tried v1 into v2 without putting a tube back in v1 (as I heard you don't necessarily need one there) to no avail. Is there any way of visually telling whether my v3 or v4 is out? They all appear to look as they did when functioning properly.

A tube can appear perfectly normal when powered up yet still be defective. If replacing them with known-good bottles does not provide a remedy then it's time for an amp tech to take a look-see inside the chassis.

Thanks for your help. I will replace the v4 and see if that fixes the problem. The v2 didn't seem to be the problem and the v3 was replaced a few months ago. I'll come back and post after.

Well that didn't fix the issue. I suppose a visit to the tech is in order. Thanks again for the help.
