Although using that speaker sounds like a great idea, according to the Billm site, it will not fit in the BJr (FDM depth 6.56").

Shim's right, that speaker has a big knob protruding from the rear of it. I think Chet Feathers has a beautiful oversized cab for his. You just need a little more depth.

By the looks of it, it is not the back panel that is the problem, but the power tubes, particularly V5:

Then your options are either to use an attenuator or buy a smaller amp as has already been discussed.

smaller amp I already have, small amps with big speaker from fender (I want fender sound) are not exisiting.

So attenuator was what I was thinkin about already before I started this thread ;)

But ... which attenuator... how does it sound... is it worth it .... who has experience with it...

25 watt unit should work fine:

Actually the speaker magnet will contact the chassis if the speaker depth is too great, and even contact the OT depending on the diameter of the magnet, before contacting the tube.

You read a post? Like a single one? You asked for recommendations, I gave you one. Google "guitar amp attenuators". You'll find plenty of them out there in all price ranges.

I don't use attenuators.

Either way, it won't fit.

You're going to lose something with any attenuator, none will be exactly the same as the cranked amp directly to the speaker, they will all be a trade-off to some extent. As Rush so graciously tried to tell us; "You don't get something for nothing,...."

Guess what? You'll find a post complaining about every attenuator on the market. So I guess you can just ignore my suggestion and find one you like on your own. Good luck.

Some people just don't "get it".

I am also one who doesn't see any sense in attenuating an amp of that size. Why fight with an amps sweet spot?

I have a 40 watt 5F6A Bassman clone, a 40 watt Blues Deluxe Reissue, a 25 watt Frontman 25R, and a 5 watt Champion 600. Guess which two I play the most at home?

I like how you said "most" of the time. I am sure it does become difficult to resist the other two.
