I have had this amp for over 10 yrs and I recently changed all the tubes and had it biased. It sounds sweet its just my speaker distorts at anything over 6 or 7 on my volume knob with single coils? So my question is can I put a Jensen C15N speaker 4ohms in my amp? Any other recommendations for a vintage warm sound? I'm new here so thanks for the help.

You can put a C15N in it but be aware -- the "N" is a 50-watt speaker and you run the risk of meltdown when playing at high volume levels. The C15K would be a better fit as far as power-handling capability goes (it's rated for 100 watts RMS).

Yes, you'll need the 4-ohm version of any speaker you decide on.

The Jensen C15K will be a drop-in fit with no unforeseen-and-aggravating "surprises".

Use caution when swapping the speakers. I strongly recommend removing the chassis before proceeding, then lying the cabinet face-down on a flat, padded surface. It may be necessary to dismount the reverb tank as well.

The speaker's kep nuts should be snugged down to 20 in/lbs of torque only -- roughly a 1/4 turn past finger tight. Install them in "staggered" fashion: after the first is tightened, skip four and snug down the fifth fastener. Repeat this procedure until all eight are tightened to spec -- it's done this way to prevent warping or distorting the speaker frame's front mounting flange as it seats down on the baffle board.

Best of luck, HTH
