The amp sees a total of 5.3 ohms, it can't tell how many speakers are connected, it sees only one load. But, the current from the amp will still divide between the speakers, more current going to the 8 ohm speaker and less going to the 16 ohm speaker.

Thanks again, just what I was trying to state without he proper words.
Would one speaker be louder than the other?

All else being equal (sensitivity, etc) yes, the 8 ohm speaker would get more of the output power from the amp, so more sound from that speaker.

As you can easily figure, 16 ohm compared to 8 ohm is a 2 to 1 ratio. So, in this case of a BJr with two speakers, one 16 ohm and one 8 ohm (all else being equal), the 16 ohm speaker will get 5 watts and the 8 ohm speaker will get 10 watts, with amp operating at full power.

Now, if each speaker in this scenario is a different sensitivity, and/or wattage, and/or magnet size, etc, then the perceived loudness between the two can be different, but the power will still divide roughly 2 to 1 because of the impedance and only because of the impedance (again, Ohm's law).

Thanks. Much appreciated.

This is very interesting.
I am wondering if sensitivity is the area professional sound technicians
can work with, if ever some speakers are intentionally mis-matched
on purpose to create desired or unique sounds/tones.

Regarding information to the OP of his desired mis-matched 2x12 speaker cabinet,
looks like it all can be done, plug and play with your amp and two speakers.
It will be interesting to hear the tones. This very subject is something I'll run into,
very soon. Now, I know there will be choices to be made and amps to protect

I think that is where the misunderstanding is. the amp does not PUSH the speakers at 5.33 ohms The 5.33 ohms is a measure of impedance or how much the speakers are IMPEDing the signal leaving the output transformer. And many times you will see this in the amp's specs. i.e 350 watts @ 4 ohms, 175 watts @ 8 ohms. (the increased load @ 8 ohms IMPEDES the signal more than the 4 ohm.) You really don't need the "EE" to see this. It's a simple matter of following the directions in the Owner's Manual!!

Thanks, Art.
I do see those specs on speaker sheets.
I was looking at the speaker's end, not the 5.333 ohms on the amp's end.
Much appreciated. Toppscore :)
