Hi everyone...I am new to this forum, but have been a fender fan for many years. I have a fender automatic gt amp that I bought back in 2000. I have never really liked it cause I just cant get the sound I want out of it. I am currently trying to sell it, but my question is, is there anyway to tweak this amp for optimal sound? Just wondering if you guys had any tips or tricks. Thanks.

A better-quality speaker *might* help but there's really nothing to be done with the built-in pre-sets and the front-panel tone controls have limited utility.

I'd unload it as quickly as possible -- these amps were designed to have a minimum service life and certain proprietary components specific to this model are no longer available.

Cutting to the chase......at twelve years old, it's prolly already living on borrowed time.

Thanks Arjay. I have it listed on craigslist with no luck. What would be my other options besides ebay in your opinion?

Honestly, I doubt that you'd even get a nibble on Ebay. And their listing fees plus the PayPal "vig" would cut into any money you might conceivably make were a sale to actually occur. You might try trading it in on a new amp at GC -- they won't give you much but at least you'll be rid of it and have a new and presumably better amp for your trouble.

Thanks for all the info Arjay. I appreciate it. I might give GC a try. They will probably give me about $25, but I guess thats better than a crap amp.
