Hi, I have an original edition Cyber Twin bought in 2002. The large toggle switch for selecting presets on the right side of the amp is entirely defective. One turn either way in the slightest amount and the amp runs through a bunch of presets jumping around until it finally stops on its own after a few moments, making it impossible to select a preset or browse them. With enough will power it is sometimes possible to get to a preset I want, but I mostly stick with those 4 saved preset quick access buttons on the left.

A friend of mine with same exact amp also has this issue. Is Fender aware of this problem in the first edition of the Cyber Twins? Anyone know what I can do to fix it? Any responses are appreciated.

You mean the data wheel/jog wheel/great big knob. An example of a "toggle switch" is a Gibson pickup selector switch.

Yes, the data wheels occasionally fail on Cyber Twins. Rebooting to the factory defaults sometimes fixes it but not always (you might have a mild struggle recreating your presets if rebooting doesn't fix it, but with a lot of wheel spinning until you randomly hit the right settings you should be able to reset them).

Sometimes the problem is broken solder joints (usually due to the data wheel suffering an impact).

There have also been failures that needed a visit to a repair shop (those might have been solder joint problems -- I haven't read any explanations of what the shops did to fix them).

Take out the chassis, get a good contact cleaner, and clean out the data wheel pot, had the same thing with my amp, was ready to deep six it, cleaned the pots, and voila, the tone and function is back. I also looked at all the solder joints, but they were in good condition.
Hope this helps, the Cyber-Twin is a great tool, too bad they have been discontinued.
