I recently came by a non-working PR 241. There is evidence that someone attempted to remove the back panel. I'm not sure if they got it off, or not. It was a nice tight fit. Once I got it open, I was able to confirm two problems.

The mounting nut was missing on the input jack. This led to a broken solder joint, which I haven't yet traced but I believe to be the ground side. I believe this to be the origin of the problem. Soldering isn't difficult for me, so this appears to be a quick fix.
The fuse was blown.
It says F 500mA, and H250V which matches the printing on the circuit board. This one is ceramic instead of glass.

I'm not sure if this is the original/correct fuse. When I come on to something that someone has started to repair, and then given up, I assume for the worst and verify everything I can.

What is the correct fuse for this frontman? Fast blow, slow blow?

Also, thanks for providing this great forum.

The "F" type is a fast acting fuse, or "fast blow".

Yes sir.
That's what fuse is in it, but I didn't know for sure if the F was for fast so thanks for that.

What worries me is if this is even the correct & original fuse.. Since the back may have been removed for (non-warranty) service. The amp's manual at service/fender/etc.html doesn't specify one way or the other.

The schematics designate the F type for the fuse. Your amp has a model number, not the PR241, but something like "10G" or "25R". Using the model number you can find the schematics for download here:
http://www.fender.com/support/articles.php?section=downloads&category=amplifier-schematics

One way or another, the fuse type is usually identified on the schematic. On the fuse itself, a letter "F" indicates fast, and a letter "T" indicates slow, and the letter will be in front of the amp rating stamped on one end of the fuse.

You are a scholar and a gentleman. Thanks a bunch!

After looking at google images of 25r 10g... Everything I type in, they all have a model number under the word Frontman on the faceplate. Mine doesn't, it just says Amp.
Anyway, my fuse question is satisfied and now I know how to find out which amp I really have.

Thanks again.
