Some of the postings in the lounge (show us your herd) gave me amp GAS. I was looking around a bit today, and came across an almost new blues jr. (black tolex) for $325(i think I could get it down to $300). I also found a blues deluxe for $350(maybe could haggle there a bit too) it's and older tweed, has a few stains, but doesn't bug me too much. Anyway I was just wondering what you guys think is a better deal.

Finding a mint-condition one-owner DRRI for $400.

Now that's a deal that nobody could refuse!

FINDING is the key word!!! Or maybe $400 is the Key word. This is partially your fault, between you and T2 I got amp GAS for sure

The Blues Deluxe is a nice amp.
Had mine for 3 years. No complaints so far.
Plenty of options with the Blues Deluxe.

Retroverbial is trying to sell you a taller Deluxe Reverb Amp w/JBL D130F cabinet that you could make, yourself, if you were so inclined and equipped to do so.

IMHO, while it's nice, for his price, plus a $400 Deluxe Reverb find, you'd be lookin' at an $800 investment plus....
you'd have to find that D130F speaker if you didn't have one already.
About $1000 by the time you're done.

Realistically, it's closer to $1200.

Slightly higher if you opt for the fitted "factory" amp cover......

But, no -- I'm not "selling" anything. I merely posit that one need not be a slave to the cookie-cutter products you find at your local GC if you're seriously interested in exploring the sonic possibilities.

Ahhh, closer to $1200 is it?
Looks like you want to sell dust covers, too.
Tombstone, Az ehh?
You know, you probably could have sold your Fender Amp dust cover collection
a few days ago with the dust storm over there.

As for the cabinet, I kinda think a special convertable extension cab is more sensible for me from a practical standpoint. But from a "non-cookie cutter" point of view, what you are trying to sell isn't a bad idea. Niche market, though.

There's been no recent "dust storm" here.

I'm a little biased, but I'd go for the BD. I have the BDRI and love it. Never played through a Blues Jr. But have been looking at getting a lower wattage amp. I thought $400 was a good price for my BDRI, $350 is an excellent price.

Crikey indeed.....

Thats why the thought of having a such a sonic wonder like your set up with a silver face DR with a 15 JBL built over there and shipped out here and a 240 V transformer put in it here or there would seem an exsorberant amount of money to you, it would still be a steal here landed here......
