Hi, this is my first post. It's nice to be here, i'm really glad i found this forum as i've been struggling to figure this out for a while now.

I've had my Twin for about 17 years but not replaced the tubes yet so i'm not sure which ones to get.

I've searched this forum and the internet, but i don't know much about amps so it's all a bit overwhelming; different makes, different resultant sound properties etc etc.

I would like to make the amp sound aggressive and crunchy, if that's a factor. If not, just some solid reliable tubes would be great. They don't have to be "the best" but i'm definitely interested in the options.

(This is my band, if it helps to get an idea of the music i play: http://thewailingestcats.bandcamp.com/track/hider-in-the-house )

Any advice would be a huge help, as i'm really lost on this one. Many thanks!

Your amp is pushing the plates of the output tubes with nearly 470VDC -- look for some hardy replacements. I'd recommend TAD's or EHX there, a matched quartet. Pre-amp glass selection is mostly a process of trial-and-error to find the brands that "fit" your ear. TAD, JJ, and Tung-Sol offer some pretty nice choices. Be sure to specify a tube with balanced transconductance for your phase inverter. There are still limited supplies of US-made NOS tubes available, finances permitting. You won't find a more durable tube than those.
