Almost picked the DRRI, but I don't gig and my place is small so I went with the Princeton . . . but their just too high to buy.

A DRRI will be my next amp, or a boutique amp.

Besides the 5 I marked upstairs, I would also want the Super Sonic not on the list. I think I would want the 60 watt head version. Blackface Champs and VCs are also desireable.

Arjay,
That is my same set up with the exception that my Deluxe is a black face and I generally use a Tele more than my Strat. The other guitar player in my band has a full half stack and a pedal board with 15 pedals and 4 LPs for each gig. He is always asking me how I get such great tone  I tell him it is easy...a Fender Tele into a Fender Deluxe and go..:) nothing beats a Fender!

Well pardner, lemme tell ya. That ain't no "re-issue" amp. It's a highly-tweaked '78 silverface. And there ain't no puny 12-inch Sara Lee pie plate in that custom cab. It's a fifteen-inch JBL D130F -- a speaker so legendary it's got its own place of honor at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland. This rig will punch any re-issue's lights out!

Indeed.

They're like a baby Vibroverb, ozrv. And being only 20 watts, they hit the sweet spot much sooner than the 40-watt big brother, which makes them far easier on the ears when pushed. I've built six of these conversions thus far -- four for my clients and the two prototypes I kept for myself. I may soon have an order for a seventh. One of these days I hope to build a 4 x 10 version as well.

The four customers each supplied their own chassis -- three of them were DRRI's, one was a mid '70s silverface which I cosmetically back-dated to blackface. Three of the cabs were blonde (one with oxblood grill cloth) and the other in black Tolex with aged white cloth. I charged them each $475 for a turn-key cab that included all vintage-spec Fender-made hardware, 16-inch tilt-back legs, grill logo, vintage-style tube chart, strain reliefs for the power and reverb cables, and period-correct mounting hardware for the speaker. The customers all selected and purchased their own loudspeakers then I assembled the amps.

Very reasonable. What beautiful amps they would be. You've carved yourself a very satisfying business by the sounds of it. Congrats.
