I have owned this amp for a few years and the 4 button foot switch that came with the amp has started to develop a problem with the Chorus button. This pedal has a special multi pin connector. The chorus light on the pedal doesn't light up but Chorus is always on and won't turn off. The other switches are working fine (Drive, Reverb and delay). I've taken the pedal apart and cleaned it, checked the connectors, but nothing helps. I don't use chorus often, but I fear the other buttons will develop this problem during a gig. Any ideas out there?

Hi Rhechblues,

It's most likely the cable itself, a 5-pin DIN cable.

Thanks. I'll give that a try. A replacement switch is hard to find and not cheap!

Yeah, those particular Fender cables stink. They always come apart at the connectors. I replaced mine twice before switching over to a cheap, no-name brand that I found on ebay. It has worked great ever since I got it.

Thanks but I already ordered a Fender replacement from Darren Riley. The eBay one is a little short at 6', but I do like the price and I'll probably end up buying one when this one goes bad!

I replaced my cable with a new 5-pin midi (monster cable). It still does not function properly, but ironically, its now different buttons that don't work. Switch back to the stock cable, and back to the original problem. Disconnect the footswitch completely, and there is no issue (except now I'm playing without the footswitch). What gives?

Did you try the suggestions already given?

You might simply have a poor connection in the pedal or cable to the pedal. Check all solder joints in the pedal closely, and check the cable for broken wires or pins. Next would be to check the foot switch jack inside the amp, for broken solder joint or pin.

inspected the pedal innards last night, it's all good. Amp was new in December and played 1 gig last weekend before trouble started. I'll have to look at the jack in the amp next. I think the cable itself is not the issue because I replaced the cable with a new monster cable and still does not work properly. What's really confusing is that neither cable works right, but the specific malfunction differs between the two. Maybe the fender cable has slightly different routing from one end to the other (not a standard midi cable?)

I dunno
