Post subject: 1995 Blues Junior amp

I have a 1995 blues junior amp that has some sort of osolation in pre amp section with no input to the amp, as you increase input volume the frequency of the osolation changes anybody have any ideas!

Could be a microphonic tube. Turn the amp on and turn it up a little. Gently tap each tube with a chopstick or the eraser end of a pencil. If any tube makes more than just a slightly louder "tap" sound through the speaker, replace it. If that doesn't work and you dont know anthing about tube amps, take it to a tech. It's a 17 year old amp and nothing special. Might be a good time to replace it. Repairs may be more than the amp is worth.

Try as bluesky636 suggests, and if that is not it, Billm addresses oscillation in the BJr. It seems to be related to the PI tube, in particular the ribbon cables. Although this is for the later cream boards, it can also happen with earlier versions that have the green board.
