I've been interested in the new Machete amp, and was beginning to think about trying it out when I saw your free messenger bag offer. I'm glad I read the small print (I always do). It says it's only valid at participating Fender Pro Amp Center. Okay, I looked at the list and counted 51 in the US! Here in Florida, I'd have to drive about 6 or so hours south or west, and that's only if they actually had one in stock. I see how Fender can be so generous.

Why bother with these teases when you know that the vast majority of potential customers will never be able to take advantage of them? I think I'll try out one of those nice new MesaBoogies they have here in town instead . . .

Is it any coincidence that Fender's new Machete closely resembles the overpriced-and-ultimately-stillborn Sunn T50C combo?

I think not!

Could be. And they're raking it in hand over fist by selling junked out instruments. The last guitar I bought had a tiny little scratch near the neck pocket and it was half off! But if it was all beat to hell, it would have cost double.

I'm afraid I just don't get it . . .
