:( Problems with my Hot Rod Deville 4-10 overheating.
I have had problems getting my bias set approiate with 6L6GC matched set. I can only get the bias up to 49.8 mv. Have problems getting a clean sound with my Tele. Very muddy past 2 When I play my drive chanell about 1/3 of the way up I have a serious heat problems with my tubes. This has happened one time before and thought I had it ready.
My tubes are only 3 months old and my other tubes were only about 4 months old. What are my options?
I am fairly comfortable with electronics but need futher assistance.

Tubes every 3 months or so? Can't get a clean sound from a DeVille 410??? Yep, I'd say the bias is *waaaay* off.

I would take it to a tech and let them straighten it out, but if you have your mind set on doing it yourself, maybe this can help you out.

 Thanks for the reply. What I did find was on of my screen resistors was open. R61 and R62 are the ones that are next to the 6L6 tubes and will cause mega problems when on of these go out. After replacing the resistor i was awed by the tone my Hotrod Deville had. My bias was easy to set and held solid.
Here is a link to the site I found that has valuable info for the amature
electronics tech.
