i need a manual for this amplifier as well as a schematic if at all possible. the reverb does not work. i've checked the connections and just smacked the reverb tank with the handle of a screwdriver while it was on and i still have none of that "thwacking" sound you should get when you smack the tank. so, i need to know which tube is the driver tube for the reverb and while this reverb tank is out i'll check it with a volt/ohm meter as soon as i know what the resistance should be on both rca jacks. other than the reverb issue this amplifier is now my #1 favorite out of all 9 of my amplifiers. it still has the original blue Jemsen speakers as well. it weighs a ton but that is what the wheels and younger people who havent broken their backs.

Here's the schematic for the '93 Super Amp......

http://web.archive.org/web/200704222233 ... oncert.pdf

It may be similar to your '94.

this amplifier is supposed to be the same amplifier as the Concert 2x12 amplifier of the same years with the only difference being that the super has 4 10's however in the amp field guide it says fixed bias for the concert but fixed adjustable for the super. i need to replace the tubes in the amplifier but there arent any amp techs locally that have anything approaching a decent reputation, i'd have to drive a 160 mile round trip to Charlotte NC (i'm in Columbia SC) to get the amp biased and re-tubed. before i pull the trigger on 4 12ax7's 2 12at7's and 2 6l6gc's i need to know which is true for my amplifier. fixed bias or fixed adjustable? though i can and have built circuits on pcb's and i can do repairs and all, i have never biased an amplifier and i dont feel confident enough to tackle it on my favourite amplifier.

I think that this is the schematic for your amp, but it looks very different from what Arjay posted. I can see the bias connection (Bias #1, Bias #2) coming off the two power tubes, but I'll be darned if I can find what they connect to.

Hold up bucko. Based on what I can see in the schematic, I think the amp is adjustible fixed bias, in which case it will be easy to bias. There are clearly marked test toints on the amp for insertion of a voltmeter's probe, making it super easy to adjust the bias. You just have to find the bias pot. The chassis layout shows what appears to be both bias adjust and bias balance pots. Check to see if your amp has those. Maybe Arjay or someone with better eyes than mine can check the schematic and figure out where the bias circuit is. I just can't find it.

According to the schematic, the bias and trim/balance pots are located on the rear panel PCB but what I haven't been able to identify are the TP's for the bias voltage.

i tried reading the schematic but my glasses are way out of date so theres no way i'm reading one of those till the new glasses come. i got a call this evening from fender and i'm told that this is a fixed bias amplifier. does this mean pull the old tubes, pop in the new ones and then play?

I found them. :D

Sheet 2 of the schematic: The tremolo is bias modulated so the bias and balance pot, bias #1, bias #2, and the C- input from the bias power supply can be found in the tremolo schematic to the lower right of page 2, directly above the information block. The two bias test points and ground are on the power amp schematic, coming off of the cathode circuit of the two power tubes.

The pots and test points are shown at the left of the rear panel PCB on sheet 4.

You need to enlarge the PDF on your computer screen. That's what I have to do. :D

"Fixed bias" just means that power tube bias voltage is provided from a fixed source from the power transformer. Yes, the amp is fixed bias, but if we are looking at the correct schematic (the one I provided), it is adjustable. You need to compare the rear panel PCB shown on sheet 4 with the rear panel of your amp to confirm that we have the correct schematic.
