So a friend of mine has a hot rod deville 410 that has some sort of problem happening in regards to the attack of a signal. played gently and quietly (1-2vol) niether the clean channel nor gain channel have much of a problem. yet played loudly and forcefully say at 5 or 6vol there is a weird crackling firework sound at random. like millions of bubble wrap bubbles being popped at once--randomly. My father and I replaced all of the tubes with a simular fender hot rod deville only-it was a 212. Same problem. So not tubes probably. Also, it seemed more agrivated the warmer the tubes got.

I don't know very much about amps or the circuitry of them but my father knows a lot about older amps, not the newer integrated ones.

He mentioned the pre amp tubes were testing surprisingly low. but that may be the nature of the newer hrdv's.

a capacitor filter was what he thought it may be.

any help would be rad. gonna be busy for a week after that i can send video.

thank you!!!! :D

Sounds logical. Anyone that "knows a lot about older amps" should be able to check the filter caps in the power supply. In fact, check all of the electrolytic caps in the amp.

Schematic for the HRDvl III:
