I recently purchased a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue. I love the tone but when I turn the reverb past 4 I get a loud ocillating reverb sound. This occurs with and without a instrument plugged in. It also occurs when the volume is all the way down on the vibrato channel and the reverb past 4. This is the first amp I have owned that has spring reverb. Is this normal?

This is not normal. You have some kinda bad electro-magnetic or circuit induced coupling (like motorboating or postive feedback) going on. I'm afraid you need to take the unit back to dealer and get it fixed or get a new one. Either way, test the amp at the dealer--- before bringing it home.

Good luck with the amp!

Hi play_busy,

Quite possibly a microphonic reverb tube. Either V3 (12AT7), or V4 (12AX7). You can easily substitute a known good tube to check, simply swap in with no adjustment needed.

Por favor, disculpe mi español, no se llega a la práctica con mucha frecuencia.

Thanks for the suggestion Shimmilou
I tried this last night. I traded out the 12AX7 with the JJ12AX7s from my Bassman, that didn't work. I switched the 12AT7 in V3 with the other 12AT7 in the amp and I still got the oscillation.
