Try input 1, as input 2 is attenuated.

Sorry man, I just got the amp and have to play with it with what I got!

Thanks for your help, I hope you have a great evening.

In other news, I swapped out V1 with a Tung-Sol 12AX7 and V2 with a Sovtek 12AX7LPS and I ain't sure what did what. I like it a little better though.

Perhaps it's also not as bright as in the pictures, you have the treble on the amp at 4 and bass on 8. Try putting them both on 5 and assessing without any pedals... once you've biased the amp correctly.

When making any changes, it's best to do one at a time unless you know what will happen. This way you can gauge the difference. One you do a number of changes at once, you'll find yourself trying to figure what did what.

Take it slow. Easy to say when you have a new toy, I know!

I'm getting it dialed in. I took out the Tung-Sol 12AX7 out of V1, put in a Sovtek 12AX7LPS, plugged into input 1 on the Vibrato channel, and woW! And then I hooked up my MXR 10 band EQ, did a few tweaks, and I am currently typing from the floor. I fell out of my chair.

I have a feeling after biasing the power tubes, and another tweak here and there, I will take a weeks vacation. :P

Thanks for yalls help guys. This amp werks! :D

" Sovtek 12AX7LPS in V1 "

I hope this tube works out for you, in the long run. They are great tubes (sonic wise)--- but the LPS (Long Plate Spiral wound heaters) are very susceptible to microphonics. And really can get noisy in the input stage (V1) of combo guitar amps.

If this should happen & you really like the tone of the 12AX7LPS--- go for a good quality 5751. The Sylvania/Philips mil spec 5751 has a very similar neutral tone (compared to the RI TS 12AX7). And are built a lot tougher than most 12AX7.

My biasing probe won't be here for a few more day's, but I gotta play anyway. I ran this through a Rogue delay and a MXL 10 band EQ. I miced up with a cheap MXL mic ran through Presonus with no post processing whatsoever. I'd like yall's opinion on the sound so far.

Yes. You are averaging about 77% max plate dissipation. I am assuming your tubes are 14 watts each. If they are only 12 watts each, you are way hot. You might want to dial the bias back a bit.

Thanks Bill. I haven't figgered out the Weber calc yet, but I think I got 11 watts. I'll try turning the bias down to 23 Ma's and see what I get.
