Hi all,

first time poster here, all the way from Australia....

I've been playing guitar for a long time, and just this afternoon i purchased a HotRod Deluxe III combo.

Beautiful amp by the way...

I purchased it because the room my band tends to play in doesn't have enough space to fit my (cheaper, different brand) quadbox and head setup, and besides, due to appalling "throw" from it's speakers, i have to turn up way too loud just to hear myself, whilst deafening the punters all at the same time.
So now i want to get my new Deluxe combo, off the floor and tilted so i can hear what i'm playing at a much more sensible volume.

Others that have this amp and use a stand, what one do you use and why? Are there any i should avoid?
My local music shop is fantastic but doesn't have any in stock at the moment, so i thought i'd ask here, and then see if they can get one for me.

Cheers in advance for any help you guys can give,

Nathan

3 that i've used:

Fender tilt-back legs. They bolt on the sides of your amp, take up no room, and fairly easy to install (as long as you can drill 2 holes lined up on each side without hitting any internals). I have these on my Bandmaster and my Showman cab.
I think these are the right size for the 40W 1x12 HR Deluxe:

Ultimate Support Genesis tilt-back - simple tripod type setup that allows you to adjust the angle of tilt. Small enough to fit in the back of my Princeton Reverb. Has a mic stand as part of it; I've never used it as I only use Sennheiser e906's to mic my amps and they just lay over the top on the grillcloth.

On Stage Tiltback Amp stand - tilts the amp back and raises it up off the floor. Our band guy uses this for his amp and it really helps.

^^This is my preferred style when using a combo. By elevating, you can get away with less total volume since it is closer to and pointed at your ears. When I'm on a lazy kick and not wanting to haul a lot of stuff, I've used a small wedge (made out of a piece of a 2X4 board) that can be carried inside the combo. Crude, but it works like the 'tiltback' type.

I use this.

Hard to beat for price, ease of use, effectiveness and portability.
