I am moving to Europe in less than a week and I plan on taking my new Excelsior amp with me. What's the best, affordable way to get it set up to play on Europe's 220 voltage? I'm looking at invertors (convertors), but I wasn't sure if there was a better, easier way.

Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Transformers are available there. Amazon.UK? Also, military coming home will be getting rid of their transformers, as they would be useless in the USA. You only have to worry about voltage, not the 50 vs 60 cycles.

" You only have to worry about voltage, not the 50 vs 60 cycles. "

This is not always true. If the tranny is built to 50/60Hz standards, no problem. But, you should not run a 60Hz only tranny in a country using 50Hz. The 60Hz is built such that most will overheat and fail under 50Hz conditions.

With the new amp being under warranty, you may also look at returning it and buying same amp internationally at the right voltage. Between shipping and customs, may be cheaper.

Oops, sorry about that. The last time I was there (63-65) all we had to worry about was record players and TV. I had a used 59 Concert amp.
