Hello,

Whenever my Fender Acoustasonic amp is on it makes a random series of static and popping noises that are not constant/comes and goes. This sound is very loud and doesn't seem to be affected by any input signals or pot turning...

Any ideas of what it might be?

Thanks,

-Jon

Acoustasonic Jr. DSP...hiss, crackle, pop...take it to dealer, dealer says that doesn't happen...insist on service, service person says that does not happen...ask Fender customer service, they say that doesn't happen...only the unfortunate ownwr KNOWS that it does happen...I've owned Fender amps [& guitars] since 1962...never had a prob. before...Deluxe Blackface, Bassman Silverface, Tweed reissue, even a Jam amp...no problems...the Acoustasonic has been a 5-year nightmare. If I have to experiment with another third-world "constructed" amp, there's no need for it to be a Fender...perhaps I'll try a Marshall.

Got the Acoustasonic Jr. static problem solved. Sold the unit with an "as-is" caveat for $200. Also sold my last remaining Fender amp, a practise JAM amp for $100 at a yard sale.
Bought a new Marshall AS-50D acoustic amp.
It was $379.00, so it effectively cost me a net $79.00. Seems very nice.
Took about 1/2 hour to get the Fender bumper sticker off my car.
