I'm convinced, this speaker really belongs in the Bjr .
IMHO sounded better than when it was in the drri ltd
Here's the scoop,
Loudness, and headroom :
Because there's a master volume and a vol, you can tweak your
headroom, it's loud enough to jam with your buddies and
only if you mic it you'll be able to gig.
However Tone:
Tone tone tone monster, the cleans are awesome and the breakup
sounds creamy and natural, you can Play with the vol to get
Earlier breakup or later. Warmer tone better bass response.
Play with the mids for crunchy breakup
Or lower mids for cleaner single note clarity with crunchier
Tones.

All in all I love it and highly recommend for the blues jr

This is not surprising -- the "warmer" alnico magnet structure helps to tame the EL84 output stage, which is known to sometimes be overly "chimey".

Your suggestion is a good one......FMIC should give it serious consideration.

Fender must agree with you about the P12Q in a Blues Jr. They're issuing a chocolate tweed FSR Blues Jr with the P12Q... very nice looking amp!

The only EL84 amps that I've owned for any length of time are a Peavey Classic 30 (four EL84 (7189), Class AB1) and a Matchless Hurricane (two EL84, Class "A"). I put the Weber Vintage 12A125A in the PV. And the Matchless came with a Celestion Vintage 30.

Boy, that Celestion is a mighty fine speaker. Powerful, still Bluesy. FWIW.

The Weber 12A125 and 12A150 are two of the best 12-inch alnicos made. IMHO.

Yeah, I agree. Called my local Fender dealer to order one. I hope he can get one for me... They don't ship til August, I believe, and the dealer said they may all be spoken for already. Got my fingers crossed..
