i'll be getting a fender deluxe and a mesa/boogie TA soon ...

how does one switch between amps? like a A/B foot switch or something?

is there a switch that allows playing through both?

I've been using the Radial Tonebone Big Shot A/B/Y for a number of years -- it's the best $75 I ever spent on a stompbox.

I have been using a DOD 270 A/B http://www.zzounds.com/item--DOD270
I also use an Ebtech HE-2 http://www.zzounds.com/item--EBTHE2PKG
I found a used HE-2 for $30.00 on eBay, it really makes the amps play nicer if you have any hum. My tube amps will hum when I hook any of them together, no problem with the solid state ones...

+1 on the Radial ABy box.

If you are willing to pay more for no coloration of tone, phase switching. and boost options you should get this higher end version:

Radial Tonebone JX-2 Pro Switchbone ABY Amp Switcher

I love this thing. I always play with 2 amps when gigging with the 9 piece group I play in and this really works as advertised

The Switchbone does bring some very usable features to the table, specifically a buffered muting circuit for totally noise-free channel selection and lighted LED indicators to let the user know which output(s) are "hot". Like the basic Big Shot, it's a great product -- well built and versatile.

wish this could be a sticky at the top of the forum for the number of times this is asked. I also have the Bigshot ABY on my pedalboard and it's great. The options of ground lift, iso transformer, and phase flip make it incredibly versatile when interfacing 2 amps.

which of course, should always be set to Both...
